Proud to be associated with.

(Entrepreneurs)
Our system will be the first in Canada and will only be available to people in British Columbia.

years.
This system will be similar to the Remax Real Estate System but be specifically adapted to the

standards. Banking, Credit Union or Finance company experience would be an asset.
Collection experience is an asset only if the candidates are prepared to follow our Standards of

Thank You and we look forward to hearing from you.

Yours truly,

Darry B. Taylor
President

International Credit Assistance Ltd. is committed to enhancing youth employability in Canada. We have hired Career Edge students in the past and have recently filled a position through the Career Edge Program.  Their website link is www.careeredge.org .

As an Associate Host Organization we must provide the Intern with meaningful work experience that will contribute to the employability of the Intern, while utilizing the general skills the Intern does have.

We have attached several letters received from previous students that have worked on Co-Op work terms with us, and a recent letter from a Career Edge Student that was hired last year.  Also, we have enclosed a letter of support from the University College of the Fraser Valley Center for Co-Operative Education and Employment Services.

           Re: International Credit Assistance Ltd.

Dear Ms. Scott,

With this letter, I would like to nominate International Credit Assistance Ltd. for the Top Empioyers of Youth Award. I do so with confidence since I was one of the youth employed by this company.

In 1994, I was a first year university student in the co-operative education program and my first two, four-month terms of employment were at International Credit Assistance Ltd. At age 18, it was my first 'real' job and provided me with increased knowledge and confidence in an array of areas including people skills, collecting and credit, decision making, and office procedures. Darry Taylor, president of International Credit Assistance Ltd. encouraged me, challenged me, and taught me about the industry and why certain courses of actions are taken; hereby, my employment with International Credit Assistance prepared me for my future jobs and career.

I want to thank Darry Taylor for the opportunity he gave me and, hereby, nominate International Credit Assistance Ltd. for the Top Employers of Youth Award. Should you require any further information or clarification, please call me at ---------

Sincerely,

Rosa W.

Dear Ms. Scott,

I would like to nominate International Credit Assistance Ltd. for Canada's Top Employers of Youth Award. I was a Career Edge Intern sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada and did a year internship at I.C.A. Ltd. from December 7, 1998 to December 3, 1999.

I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Major Mathematics in August of 1998. My academic achievement and lack of experience made it next to impossible to find employment. I would hear either I was over educated or I had little or no experience. It was very frustrating, and as I was about to give up I heard about I.C.A. Ltd. Finally someone wanted to hire me because of my lack of experience.

Hiring someone with little experience is very time consuming. There is a great deal of time and patience involved. In our fast paced business world few employees enjoy the task of training, let alone employers.

It is not like that at I.C.A. Ltd. Mr. Taylor and his staff take the time to personally train their employees. As a youth employee I not only learned all aspects about my position, but also about the credit and collection industry. Working at I.C.A. Ltd. was a learning experience every day.

I.C.A. Ltd. is exactly the type of work experience youth need. Not only do we learn a lot about the credit collection field, but we also gain valuable skills for the workplace. Communication skills both verbal and oral, organization, the ability to prioritize, and computer skills.

Mr. Taylor will go out of his way to help any of his students. He will never ask a student to do anything they may feel uncomfortable with like calling a debtor or client. He is the type of employer that goes above and beyond the call of duty. I was so impressed by I.C.A. Ltd. I decided to stay after my internship was completed.

From my personal experience, I know Mr. Taylor is a top employer of youth. He is dedicated, takes time out of his busy schedule, and truly cares about the students he hires. I nominate I.C.A. Ltd. for Canada's Top Employers of Youth Award, and cannot think of anyone more deserving.

Yours truly,

Amritt-Paula K.S.

Dear Ms. Scott:

My name is Wendy H. and I attend the University College of the Fraser Valley. I am enrolled in the Business Administration program and have participated in the Co-operative Education program. I worked at International Credit Assistance for two of my. six work terms. The experience that I gained from working with Darry Taylor and his company has proven to be invaluable.

I had my reservations when I first started working at International Credit Assistance because the label of "collection agency" scared me a little. However, I very quickly realized that Mr. Taylor is not your typical collector. He is a person who truly cares about the welfare of others. He is sincere about helping debtors learn how to get out of trouble and improve their credit ratings.

Unlike any other employer that I have had, Mr. Taylor took a great deal of time to make sure that I learned all about the workings of not only his business but of the whole process involved with collections. As he is a very busy person and his time is valuable I am very grateful to him for the time he gave me.

The many skills that I learned at International Credit Assistance have made me a valuable asset to all future employers. Mr. Taylor helped me improve my communication skills immensely which are very important in the business world. I also learned how to be a leader and to teach others. This skill is especially valuable to me as I am pursuing a career in Human Resources. I am proud to add the experience that I gained at International Credit Assistance to my resume.

Mr. Taylor truly cares about the success of the students that he hires. He has made it clear to me that whenever I need assistance with anything in the future, he will do what he can to help me. I do not know of any other employer who is as dedicated as he is.

Yours truly,

Wendy H.

Dear Linda:

The Co-operative Education program at the University College of the Fraser Valley (UCFV) relies upon employer organizations to hire, train, and provide a meaningful work experience for our students each year. Since 1993, International Credit Assistance Ltd., under the ownership of Mr. Darry Taylor, has provided approximately twenty, four to eight month placements to students in the Business Administration Diploma and Degree programs.

International Credit Assistance, under Darry's direction, has provided excellent working and learning environments for our students over the years. The high level of customer service that Darry expects from his employees is apparent in the students evaluation of the work term. Students are quick to support International Credit Assistance as an excellent work experience in building their careers.

Examples of Darry's exceptional commitment to customer service and his entrepreneurial flair are apparent in his dealings with the UCFV Co-op Centre, his customers, peers and his employees. It is this type of approach that has allowed his business to expand, and has gained him the respect of fellow businesses in the area.

In closing, our dealings with Darry and International Credit Assistance Ltd. leave no doubt that he would be an exceptional representative of a Top Employers of Youth Award. We fully endorse and support this nomination. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Centre at 854-4507.

Yours sincerely,

Brent Newman

To Whom It May Concern:

As a student of Human Resources Development Canada’s Summer Career Placement Program I have worked at ICA as a Customer Service Representative for the summers of 2002 and 2003. During my employment at ICA I have been pleased to have learned much more than I had bargained for.

Not only have I learned an enormous amount about the credit and the collection industry, I take with me the knowledge of how an entrepreneur with a vision creates a small business on the verge of something very successful.

From Darry Taylor I have learned that a whole lot persistence and a little bit of luck pays off in a huge way. Mr. Taylor’s youthful personality gives any individual hope that hard work and honesty goes a long way and that you can achieve your goals by sticking to what you believe in and never doubting yourself.

As a student of Marketing Communications I have completed projects at ICA which will inevitably provide me with hand-on experience in this field; such as cold call marketing and creative advertising. I have also conquered the clerical end of things such as banking, filing, etc. However I know the most important thing I take from my employment at ICA is the drive to succeed and the perseverance to continue to pursue my goals step-by-step as demonstrated by the hard working Mr. Taylor.

I realize that I could have learned the basis skills about the workplace from any ordinary 9 to 5 job. The devotion to your profession, diligence, and determination I have learned from Mr. Taylor is a unique expertise that is beyond what I could have been taught in school.

I came into this position hoping to gain some positive work experience and I am now departing full of inspiration towards pursuing my goals as a businesswomen. I could not begin to thank Mr. Taylor and everybody at ICA enough for giving me this once in a life time opportunity to start my career on the right path.

Yours Very Truly,

Cindy C. Dhaliwal
